Susan
Rosenbaum, a/k/a The
Enthusiastic Gourmet,
is an explorer and a knowledge-seeker by nature. And when it comes to food,
there is no stopping her. Whether it's scrambling over the rocky coast of
the Atlantic Ocean in Estoril to hunt for sea urchin...or smuggling a
durian, the "king of all fruits" and the vilest smelling, onto a crowded
plane...or rolling gozleme with the locals in Turkey, Susan is continuously
learning and sharing her love of food with others.
Susan's
interest in food began at the young age of 2, when she ate her first
escargot (and liked it)! She then mastered chopsticks at 3, which led
to a whole new world of enticing cuisines. Growing up in Louisiana,
Susan ate well and learned the importance of food as a bond between family
and friends.
After a
successful career at Federated Department stores, including managing
Bloomingdale's store operations and The Cellar at
Macy's South, Susan received her Culinary Certificate at the French Culinary
Institute in NYC. She also studied Pastry Arts, Chinese cooking technique,
and food writing at the New School and the Institute of Culinary Education
in New York. Susan received her certificate in Food Protection from the New
York City Department of Health.
The
Enthusiastic Gourmet
is a licensed NYC tour guide and member of NYC&Co.
